Keep your passwords, provider recovery codes, and encrypted backups safe. Authora cannot reset a forgotten password or recover your accounts remotely.
Using Authora
These terms govern your use of Authora and this website. By using Authora, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app. “We” means the Authora developer. The privacy policy explains how the app handles information.
You must be legally able to accept these terms. If local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, obtain that permission before using the app.
What the app does
Authora stores authentication enrollment information and generates supported verification codes locally. It is a tool for accounts you own or are authorized to access. Authora is not an account provider, identity-verification service, password-recovery service, or guarantee that an account cannot be compromised.
Features and platform capabilities may vary. Steam support is for offline login codes, not trade or market confirmations. Legacy mOTP and Yandex compatibility does not guarantee support for every provider or enrollment variant.
Your responsibilities
- Use Authora only with accounts you own or have permission to access.
- Keep your device, operating system, and app up to date, and use an appropriate device lock.
- Keep your vault and backup passwords, provider recovery codes, and encrypted backups somewhere safe.
- Check imported account details before saving them, and keep the device clock correct for time-based codes.
- Protect readable exports and shared files. Anyone who obtains an enrollment secret may be able to generate valid codes.
Passwords, backups, and recovery
Authora has no server-side password reset that can recover a forgotten vault or export password. Losing a device, clearing app data, forgetting a password, or deleting the only usable backup may permanently prevent you from retrieving your enrolled account secrets.
Maintain current encrypted backups and the recovery options offered by each account provider. Verify that a backup can be opened before relying on it. Removing an account from Authora does not remove two-factor authentication from the provider’s account.
Security controls and limitations
Authora offers encrypted storage and configurable access controls. Their effectiveness depends on the device, platform, operating-system security, selected settings, and how you handle account information. If both biometrics and PIN are disabled, the app may retrieve its local unlock credential without an additional prompt.
No software can guarantee complete protection against device compromise, unauthorized access, data loss, malware, shoulder surfing, or clipboard exposure. Screen-privacy behavior varies by platform. Authora has not received an independent security certification.
Acceptable use
Do not use Authora to access another person’s accounts without permission, steal or distribute authentication secrets, break applicable law, or interfere with others’ systems. Do not misrepresent Authora as affiliated with or endorsed by an account provider. Lawful security research and rights granted by applicable law are not restricted by this section.
Third-party services
Your operating system, app store, account providers, optional icon provider, and storage or sharing services you choose operate independently. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners; their appearance does not imply endorsement.
We cannot control whether an account provider accepts a code, changes its enrollment format, suspends an account, or changes its recovery process.
App and third-party rights
Using Authora does not transfer ownership of the app, branding, website, or third-party materials to you. You may use the app as distributed for its intended purpose, subject to these terms and applicable law. Any separate software license supplied with Authora controls the rights it grants in the relevant code.
Open-source components, included fonts, and other third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses. These terms do not replace or reduce rights granted by those licenses.
Updates and availability
We may update, change, or discontinue features or distribution. App-store terms may separately govern installation and updates. These terms do not promise continued availability of every feature, support for every platform, or compatibility with every provider.
Before uninstalling, clearing data, or moving to a new package or device, create and check a usable encrypted backup. You may stop using Authora at any time.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Authora and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, completely secure, or suitable for every purpose. You remain responsible for maintaining account recovery options and backups.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of the app, including loss of access, lost data, or losses caused by third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Applicable rights and disputes
Mandatory laws and consumer protections that apply where you live continue to apply. These terms do not require you to give up rights or remedies that cannot be waived. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law.
If you have a concern, contact the developer first where practicable. This does not prevent you from using lawful complaint processes or seeking a remedy through the appropriate authority or court.
Changes and contact
Updated terms will be posted here with a revised date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms, except where applicable law requires a different process. If you do not accept a change, stop using the app.
The developer’s public contact details will be added before release.
Do not include passwords, app PINs, enrollment secrets, live verification codes, or unencrypted backups in a support message.
